MAURA D. MCLAUGHLIN is a partner with the Boston law firm of Morgan, Brown & Joy LLP. Ms. McLaughlin practices employment law representing management, and regularly counsels employers on both the legal and practical aspects of the employment relationship in areas including: management of leaves of absence and reasonable accommodation requests; compliance with wage and hour laws; avoidance of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation; conducting workplace investigations; defensible disciplinary actions and best management practices; and contractual matters. Ms. McLaughlin also represents employers in proceedings in state and federal courts and agencies including the Massachuse
tts Commission Against Discrimination and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Ms. McLaughlin is a graduate of the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination certified course on training to prevent sexual harassment and other unlawful harassment in the workplace, and regularly conducts training in public and private sector workplaces. Prior to rejoining Morgan, Brown & Joy LLP, she served as Deputy Counsel to the Massachusetts Senate and as an Assistant Attorney General in the Appeals Division/Criminal Bureau of the Office of the Attorney General of Massachusetts. Ms. McLaughlin is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (B.A., magna cum laude) and Boston College Law School (J.D., cum laude).
